First Batch of Illustrations Photographed

Many of the illustrations for Evolutionary Ufology have been photographed and touched up.  They look pretty fantastic in black and white, especially the Upper Oldowan bifacial chopper, which looks amazingly similar to the face of a Gray.

Fidgeting: Editing the Edit

Well, the fidgeting need to edit the edit just doesn’t stop, which is ultimately a good thing. I just realized that an experiment I suggested in my book had no control. So that part’s better. But I’m getting to the point now where I’m double guessing myself, and this could lead to irreparable damage to the flow of the text if I tinker too much. Argh! Oh, well, all part of writing a book, I guess. I truly hope my editor likes the book!

Final Edit Ready for Editor

I completed the final edit of Evolutionary Ufology, transferring the MS Works to MS Word.  The manuscript is ready to be sent off to my editor at Schiffer, aside from photo insertion codes.

Permission to photograph the hominin busts has been denied due to copyright.  Not a real problem.  We’ll have plenty of quality photos for illustrations.

Next phase is photography and captions.

Final Edit of Evolutionary Ufology in Progress

I have begun the not-so-laborious task of converting Evolutionary Ufology from MS Works to MS Word.  This is, essentially, my final edit before I send off the manuscript to my editor.  I have completed the marketing worksheets and the checklist for submission.  All that remains is to finish this final edit, take photos for the illustrations, and write the captions for the photos (and then insert the codes into the text).  I have until November 15 to meet my deadline.  I think it’s all going to work out on time and schedule.

Then it’s on to phase 2…more to come.

Salem, Oregon UFO Flap?

It certainly seems like it.  The Statesman Journal newspaper received another letter, just yesterday, about a sighting some months old that corresponds with the sighting last month:

Salem Statesman Journal 09/08/2012, Page C04:

Still seeking answer about mystery in the sky

In response to Vincent Stone’s Aug. 30 letter, I can’t explain what he is seeing.

What I can say is, some months ago, myself and five other people saw what Mr.

Stone described in his letter. I mean exactly what he described!

We watched “it” for some 10 to 15 minutes performing “impossible” maneuvers in the sky until it finally took a direct course south and disappeared from our view.

Can someone explain to all of us what we saw?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, if MUFON gets involved, and if the flap continues.  I certainly hope I get to have a sighting of my own.

The Bone Clones Company Approves Publication of Product Photos

What a great company!  Bone Clones has only ever been one of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with.  They have agreed, most courteously, to allow me to publish photos of the skulls I bought from them for use in the book.  Here’s what we would have in the book, in black and white, just as long as Schiffer okays this many photos.  They could be kept relatively small to print, of course.
